The Valley of the Giants Gallery is also the residence and studio of D.J. Brennan known as Des.
Des has travelled Australia documenting life and landscapes in drawing, painting and sculpture. Des's four decade professional career resulted in numerous one-man exhibitions and commissions.
Des is also a University of Western Australia Summer Schools Lecturer and in1990 lived and worked with Aboriginal Community Arnhemland. Des conducts workshops and private tutoring.
Born 1945 in the Goldfields of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia He studied graphic art and painting at Perth School of Art, James Street.
His unique style evolved very much in isolation traveling wide and far for his subjects then returning to his hills studio to build on images and complete. Realistic but at other times the abstract beauty of creation captured with equal force and command.
In his lifelong career he has worked on major commissions in water colour, oil and sculpture, today building on a collection of water colour of the local area he has chosen to move to Bow Bridge in South of Western Australia where the giant forest trees meet the ocean.
